A busy summer for Selah!

A lot has been happening for us here at Selah. From births and babies to new shops galore.
Please join us in welcoming a very special little bundle of beauty.... Julie and her family welcome new baby Jade, born on the 22nd of June she is as perfect as you can imagine. I'll let Julie update the details, but she is just as precious as can be and Julie is such an amazing mama. Congrats to them :D !!!!

On the work front-
Selah has joined Lily Pad Landing Congo! I (Lisa) will be stocking every other Thursday so look out for goodies there as well as our new Etsy Shop! We have just had a store update and the theme this stocking is fiber. BFL, Merino and Superwash Merino are all available for your spinning pleasure. I am also VERY pleased to be a part of a collaboration set to take place this week. Let's just call it "Maui Wowie" :D

July 4th stocking.....

As far as our Hyena Cart goes, we will be having a celebration in thanks and observation of Independence Day. Starting July 2nd, there will be lotteries, BIN's and one or two special auctions running until early morning the 4th of July.

I have teamed up with one talented mama to bring you a unique knitting set. Tia of Camp Follower Bags designed this knitting bag for this special stocking. It is complete with a large storage area, needle slits, large pockets and truly gorgeous detail. I drool over everything she makes and am so pleased to have her take time out of her busy custom list to join us!

The bag will be paired with yarn dyed by me in limited and one-time colorways, and on limited yarn bases sure to please any knitter.

Another great announcement! Julie and I are very proud and excited to be part of the Fluff Factory Auctions this year! Auctions will be benefiting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. More details to come, there are some really yummy and down right amazing things available for this worthy cause.

On a homefront note: I have plenty of goods coming your way including a few skeins of Crush, Redemption and some really yumm-o spinning fibers.

We have something very special in the works for our one year anniversary!
Selah has been working HARD getting together our HUGE stocking, that will last over several days. We have so many many wonderful WAHM's we are in collaboration with and have graciously agreed to be part of our giving thanks. We are honored to know so many inspiring artist and even more-so to have made such great friendships.

We will be stocking the morning of March 12th through the 15th with auctions, lotteries, sets upon sets, yarn-y goodness galore and many treats and collabs that have us so excited! We have some really amazing work coming in that honestly, I want to buy it all for myself :)

Holidays are coming!

We are part of the Holiday Lane Congo on Hyena Cart!
We are both really excited to get some holiday things up for our customers. We will be stocking Wed evening with lots of seasonal goods and a few new colorways.
The congo is one of the largest on HC, and is full of some amazing artisans. Not even half are stocked, so there is going to be plenty of holiday themed items and gifts to get through the entire fall and winter months. Come check it out!

Just a wee bit of organic merino wool in our new colorway "Winter Village" (inspired from a drawing by a 6-year-old-me recently uncovered by my sister and I while on a trip through time at my Mom's house). The auction for a custom set of longies worked from this yarn begins Friday.

Honoring a family... a friend...

Here I am, a sentimental Mama with a burden to share...

A close friend of mine and her beautiful family, 3 children (all special-needs kiddos with high needs for their health) ages 5, 1.5 and 3 years - were involved in a tragic car/train accident, they lost two of their three beautiful children a year ago on Sept, 12th in the very early hours of that morning. My son's best friend (their oldest daughter) would be turning 6 years old today (the 8th). These two dates so close together within the first year of such a loss... I simply can't fathom what kind of turmoil and pain that would be in my heart as a Mama... it pains me greatly simply as a friend. I am sure that the pain of loosing such young ones is never something that softens with time and it is hard to know how to come along a heart-aching family when I can't say anything that can ease that pain. I want to express a Mama's heart... a sister's heart, by saying in a very small way - Your Burden Is Our Burden. You are not alone.

Lisa and I are hosting a benefit auction/lottery/stocking this next week for this close friend and her family. All proceeds will go toward a trust fund for their 4 year old son who has Autism and a genetic disorder, and for a few small things for the two beautiful children that are no longer with us.

The list of giving vendors is humbling and honoring. With my deepest gratitude I want to say a resounding thank you - for caring for a family you may not know past your computer screen, for sharing your giftings, hearts and time with me in such sincerity and without any hesitation. I can't express well enough how grateful I am. Thank you and all of my heartfelt blessings to (in no particular order):

Friday is the big day!

We are having our 6month celebration at Selah on Friday the 31st!!!
After what seems like a very long, and busy 6months Julie and I are so proud to have this little store underway and happy as can be. We are deeply thankful to our customers and we'd like to share the love.
It starts at 9am Est and goes and goes and goes there is seemingly no planned end in sight :)
We will have some Free for shipping items, a few (awesome) auctions with yarns from both of us paired together, as well as the regular 'fastest finger' BIN's popping up all day!

I dont have any of Julie's new colorways, (though I can assure you they are brilliant!) but I have a few here that I did that I will have up on an array of different yarns :) First Frost, and Autumn Dessert.

Starting a new blog!!

Well,
I decided to start a blog for the Selah store so our customers can keep up with all of our updates.
We have some really exciting things going on for our store, and would love to keep you all in suspense :)

Among many new color ways these last few months, we also have something special coming along to celebrate our 6 months at Hyena Cart... something very, very lust worthy................... :) more on that later.....
